frequently Asked Questions
We are not a U.S.-based organization. Do you fund organizations that are based outside of the U.S.?
Organizations need to be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as meeting 501(c)3 determination in order to be consider for a grant.
Can our organization apply if we use a U.S.-based fiscal sponsor?
We generally do not consider fiscal sponsorship-type arrangements. The fiscal sponsor (U.S. entity) would need to be the organization applying for the funding.
Can we apply if our organization is the equivalent of a 501(c)3 in our own country? Can you use an equivalency determination?
We are unable to consider equivalency determinations at this time.
What if we submit the letter of interest after the deadline?
We will keep your letter of interest on file for the next year’s grant cycle. However, you may want to revisit our website as the new deadline approaches for updates on our priorities and program areas.
Do you fund activities outside of your program areas?
We always like to hear about the important work of organizations. However, we are limited in what we can fund outside of our program areas. Please reach out to Adrienne Stone at adrienne@thestonefamilyfoundation.org if you think your work might align with the Foundation.
