Youth in Santa Barbara County
The Santa Barbara Youth Program champions initiatives dedicated to unlocking the full potential of young people. We support efforts that target underserved youth to provide transformative personal development and enrichment, broaden horizons through exposure to new ideas and creative endeavors, and ensure the safety and well-being through essential social and protection services. Together, we strive to create a future where every child in Santa Barbara County can thrive.
The program has three pillars:
Education: We support organizations that strengthen academic fundamentals and equip students with the knowledge and skills for lifelong success.
Arts and Culture: We support access to diverse artistic and cultural experiences that nurture self-expression and broaden perspectives.
Social Services: We want to ensure young people have access to essential social and protective services that provide a stable foundation for their daily lives and future growth.
Requests for Support
The Foundation accepts 1-2 page letters of interest (LOI) at any time. LOIs should clearly state which pillar(s) the project would support. To be considered for a grant in 2025, LOIs must be received by June 30, 2025. Any letters received after that date will be considered for the following year’s grant cycle. LOIs should be sent to adrienne@thestonefamilyfoundation.org.
Grants are typically for $25,000 to $30,000 with a duration of 12-18 months.
Additional considerations: The Foundation prioritizes those organizations that work within or alongside the public schools, can demonstrate a clear approach to identifying and working with youth, and can articulate their own assessment of “success”.
The Stone Family Foundation has been proud to support organizations and initiatives in Santa Barbara County that seek to strengthen opportunities and access for local youth. Past recipients include:
