The Stone Family Foundation is a family-led foundation that actively supports organizations to improve equity, vibrancy, and sustainability.
The Stone Family Foundation provides funds to charitable organizations which are active in either of the following fields:
Education and empowerment of girls and vulnerable populations living in low-income countries
Environmental preservation, health, and legal protections
Critical thinking and civic engagement
Cultural, educational, and welfare initiatives targeting youth in Santa Barbara County, CA
Volunteer hospice care and bereavement counseling
The Foundation may also provide funds to other charitable organizations which are determined by the Directors to be appropriate for financial assistance.
Grants are typically between $25,000 and $50,000.
While applications for grants may be submitted by invitation only, interested parties who work in one of the Foundation’s priority areas (listed above) may send a letter of interest (LOI) to the Foundation which describes the organization and the proposed use of requested funds. Copies of brochures and other publicly distributed materials which describe the present activities of the organization may be included. Please review specific guidelines for each program area. Deadlines for LOIs for 2026 are below.

An applicant must be a publicly supported tax exempt organization recognized as such by the Internal Revenue Service under I.R.C. Section 501(c)(3).
